ok guys, so I just did a turbo swap from stock to an s14 non BB T28. The stock turbo had a barb fitting come out of it for boost, that ran to the wastegate. The wastegate opened a 8psi of pressure yada yada. My T28 doesnt have an outlet so I can run something to the wastegate, so right now my wastegate isnt even opening so I'm taking it very slow. What should I rig up to fix this issue. ps, running an hks boost gauge.

Here is what i mean

With my old turbo that outlet for the barb fitting ran to the wastegate therefore opening it up at 8psi.

My new turbo has that same outlet, but it isnt for boost and doesnt let air through.

just run a vac line to the manifold, that's how I've got mine setup.

Intake mani? Won't boost spike since its judging the boost from the intake manifold and not close to the turbo? By the time it hits 8psi at the manifold what if its already at 10 or 11 psi at the wastegate its just opening?

minimal boost spike vs closed wastegate. I'd much rather have the spike.

if you've done the necessary supporting mods for the fuel system when you upgraded to the T28, there shouldn't be any issues.

I am having the same issue, however, i would like to drill and tap the SR intake tube for the wastegate source.

I know the tap i need is a 1/8-28 BSP tap but what size drill bit do i use?

I tried Google but got 2 answers, 11/32" and 5/16"

Anyone know for sure?

Ok Answered my own question and i will post up the answer for anyone who is searching.

Step 1: pull out the wastegate tap from the stock CA turbo.

Step 2: Drill and tap the stock T25 or T28 air inlet. Drill bit is the 11/32" Tap is the 1/8-28 BSP

Super easy and cheaper then the above option so i figured it was right up CA owners alley.

Beat me to it. I did the same thing only I wasn't able to get the old one out, so I had to get one from the hardware store.
