Just a heads up.

If you drive your Rogue where gravel is used to maintain the streets where it snows. Beware.

Our sunroof was smashed this weekend on the highway from a passing vehicle. Not a fun experience to say the least. Getting a rock chip makes you jump, this sounded like a bomb. May have been a fluke, but the sunroof is exposed enough that the deflector would be good investment.

How did a rock hit it? If the rock was coming down at a vertical angle from above, it wouldn't it have smashed it even if there was a deflector? I guess I'm not able to picture it.... a deflector would only help it coming straight at the car....which wouldn't hit the roof anyway....

Where did you purchase your moonroof deflector? According to my nissan dealer in Ct. (12/7/07) they have not been made available yet due to "brand new model." They (parts dept) will keep checking on the availability.

I see they are offered in the official nissan parts / accessories in the official Rogue site though. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!! :

The shop I'm bringing it to ordered the parts from the dealer. Parts are 2-3 weeks out, so our rogue is out of commission for the time being. Get this, $800 for the sunroof (glass only), $83 for the deflector. .
