I just installed mine too. About a month and a half ago. I used the sock that came with the kit. No problem as of yet. My gas light comes on at E than I fill up a little half past E. Haven't noticed any performance increase yet. got to go to tracks (1/4m) to see for sure . Maybe friday. Then drift session on sunday. But one thing I did notice was my gas mileage. Before I used to hit about 280-300 miles per tank. I just filled up on sunday checked the tripmeter and wowee 361 miles were registered.

The sock is for the s13 in the walbro units and is good for the s13... For an s14 the included sock is not only too short (due to different tank designs) but also facing the wrong direction...

Check the access panel post for my link to a archived freshalloy post on the sock, and a damn close (images are down last time I checked but still) replacement... It also states where to get this sock so that the s14 walbro runners have an alternative to running out of fuel with plenty in the tank(a very good possibility for the auto-x'rs who like to run lower fuel levels to save weight like myself).

[email protected] is the email for the business who knows what is up with the sock to use for the s14, and walbro 255.

Just give them an email and ask for the s14 sock TY used on the walbro as found on freshalloy.

Where have you all purchased the Walbro pumps? Also, I've been told to use the 225 unit not the 255. Any thoughts?

I got mine from enjuku as I was planniing on going turbo soon after I bought it, and had to drive by and get some other goodies. Things didnt work out so I sold it, as I never installed it, but I did reasearch the sock issue :)

Ill probably get another from enjuku as its as semi local retail shop.. Ebay is another good place..

And why not use the 255? Im just curious as to why someone told you to use a lesser pump...
