And also check out the front of the engine, it does not look like a street car motor. And also nissan made the vg as well. This motor does not look like a vG30dett.

I never said that this engine isn't a VQ and I know that the block has "VQ30" stamped on it. I just said that whoever made that little white sticker (maybe a junkyard) probably confused the engine with a VG30DETT, but they knew it was a VQ?? I don't know why that sticker is there, I'm just trying to make a justifiable reason why it's there because I know that engine is not a turbo VQ race motor.

No, the front of the engine, aka timing chain cover, doesn't look like a race motor. It looks exactly like a FWD Maxima VQ30. It even has bolt holes in the timing chain cover for a FWD engine mount. I never said that it looks like a VG30DETT, but I know that there's morons out there who get these things confuse.

The person I got the motor from said he did not know exactly, but he thinks it was from open wheel racing(he said indy car). I know nissan probably never had an indycar motor. I will take the valve covers off and take pics of the cams.

I also know when a factoy makes a race motor they use factory blocks and some esthetic parts. I also know the person I got the motor from does not know what it is. Is there a place I can run the numbers stamped into it? I will take pics of the cams because they could reveal alot about the engine. If the guy will let me I might be able to take the heads off as well.

You're right. That's a maxima VQ30DE. Look at the LH valve cover...

Someone must have confused it with the VG30DETT.

That's a First Gen VQ30DE Maxima / Infiniti I30 engine. I have one.

It doesn't even come with DE-K Variable Intake.

It really looks like the VQ30det i have. It's from a Nissan Cedric originally bound for the US.

That way, it would still look like a VQ with all the markings on the block saying so. It's a tubo built engine and only depends if they run the larger stock single on the LH side of the engine with the RH bank running around the back.

Too many people i speak to start talking about the VG30dett rather than the VQ30det... I'm building mine as a VQ30det+t.

A guy in WA has managed to get 500hp atw in his R32 skyline on stock internals.

I would be supprised if it is not a VQ30det to be honest.

BS! Cedric Engines don't have the same passenger side valve cover he has. That one is exclusive to Maxima and I30.

there is no such thing as a factory VQ30DETTThe JGTC teams keep their build info a secret and have strict regulations on displacement, so if they say they use a VQ30DE block but the max they can use is a 3.2 it is safe to assume they were stroked.

it could be a block that was intended for twin turbo race car.

just because the sticker looks old doesn't mean anything, if I buy a VQ35DE and put a sticker on it that said Subaru VQ42DETTR 251 and sell it 10 years from now you would probably think its factory by that same logic

Your engine came out of a maxima or an I30

You got a frontal shot of your engine? I want to look at how the alternator, pump, AC are belted. Mine is a VQ from Maxima going into 240sx and I need to redo them. Thanks.

Sorry, your correct. It's not a RWD VQ30det... the oil fill is different.

I dont know of any factory VQ30dett though, so i can gaurentee that it's not what the sticker says.

These are not my engine, but are of VQ30det's in RWD format.
