I was wondering if anyone had these 2 laying around the shop. Considering pretty much all nissan rwd 5speed transmissions have interchangeable parts (with the exception of the VG transmission and rb25). And is the same with the automatic transmissions. I want to know if the rear portions are interchangeable just like the KA and 5speed SR transmissions.

I'll look. But I doubt it. Z33 trans is REALLY FAT. Like an American girl who eats at McDonalds.

LoL. Well, I said American, not 'white' nor any other color.i.e. If they were Europeans eating at McDonald, they'll likely be thinner.

From what i've been lead to beleave the VQ 6-speed is one of the toughest boxes nissan has built. (except for the second gear syncro) So would be the one that will last you the longest out of the two. The only issue is that the VQ box is bigger, and that may (or may not) mean that some floor "adjustment" will be required to get it to tuck up.

Actually, you would.

The shifter is in the wrong location, so you'l need to do some work there.

The Second gear Syncro was a major flaw in the initial 6 speeds. But Nissan fixed them up soon after.

I'll look for the pictures of the comparison of the VQ box against others. The VQ box owns the SR one.

I'm putting one in my S13 240sx. Fits in like a charm, except the shifter support
