Hello again Nicomaniacs, Its Neil. Simple question, as stated in the title. I have a viper 350 2 way, and the only problem I ran into was the starter kill install...There are 3 wire coming off the relay, and no instructions. There is a green thick gauge, and a black thick gauge wire. And also a thin gauge yellow wire, meant for the ignition. Im getting mixed answers for the side of the starter wire the black and green thick wires go on, and have no clue where to instal the thin yellow wire...Any help would be greatly appreciated, because the car just sits as of now. Thanks a lot people, and you havent let me down yet...So lets not make it a first...THANKS

it wires in with the starter signal line out of the ignition. green to ignition side, black to starter side and the yellow is the signal from the viper box.

There is a yellow and an orange pre wired into the viper harness going to the relay. then has a yellow coming off the relay coupled with the yellow going into the relay. So what I'm saying is the relay is wired up to the viper system already, but the relay has this yellow wire coming out of the relay, where the yellow from the viper goes in. If that makes sense.

Ok, bu there is a yellow wire out of the relay, connected to the yellow into the relay. Where do I connect the yellow out of the relay...because the starter isn't cut when the alarm is armed.

I understand that...but isn't there 2 ignition outputs, and where on the harness? Sorry for the multiple questions, just don't want to mess the car up. Thanks

outputs? harness? It needs ignition feed, from the ignition of the car. it needs to get current when the ignition is hot, that way if someone is jacking the car when they charge up the ignition it will trip the starter kill relay. its up to you where you tap your ignition feed and split the starter wire but i suggest to do it in the place thats hardest to get to. i took out my dash and wired mine in behind the heater controls.

I think you may have it hooked up wrong my friend. Isn't the point of the starter kill to disable the starter, so the car can't start at all?
Like when the car is off, the starter wont crank? Or am I the wrong one...Because thats how it is on my other alarm. But I cant seem to get it to work on this one.

Ok...Looked thru it, and thats the same manual I already have. Still tells me nothing about this mysterious Yellow wire connected to the yellow wire going in from the brain...Its just jumpped off the yellow thats prewired directly from the brain.

OK...I need to vent!!! This alarm is the worst piece of crap ever put in front of me...Dont Buy viper, DONT BUY VIPER!!! It wont even set to lock now, and it didnt come with instructions on how to install properly...DONT BUY VIPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They obviously dont want the everyday electrician to wire it up themselves...and because of that wont EVER get my business again!!!

straight up, DEI makes some of the best alarms around. Viper is one of them. The yellow wire needs ign feed, its on page 8 of the manual. If your not a professional than yes it may be a hassle but thats no reason to rag on the maker. read the manual and install the alarm or take it to a professional, if you dont know jack about alarms than thats your problem not theirs. Im no DEI salesman, or retailer, but i have installed enough alarms to know a quality product when i see one and this is one. i personally have an AVITAL 4300 (by dei) installed in my 240 and it works flawlessly. not only will it keep my car safe but it will start it on cold days, its a turbo timer, and it will roll my windows up when armed!!

H1/9 YELLOW (+) ignition input
Connect this wire to the (+) 12 volts ignition wire. This wire is pre-wired to the starter kill relay and
must show (+) 12 volts with the key in RUN position and during cranking. Take great care that this
wire cannot be shorted to the chassis at any point.

have a nice day!!

So if this wire was shorted to the chassis, what would/could I ruin? Also where are you located, any possible way it's in Pa?

you could ruin the alarm, it may do nothing, most likely it will just blow fuses. i live in new orleans.

I might be able to get the car to you...I just need the right motivation. Do you do this for a living?

hehe, any excuse to go to new orleans! no im not an alarm installer but i did study small electronics so i know all about electrical theory. If you brought the car here i could definitely get the alarm installed but its a long way to go for a simple alarm. your better off finding someone local that installs for a living and pay them to do it as a side job, or just finish it yourself. have you stopped in at the12volt.com, lots of good wire guides there. can you get the alarm to arm/disarm again? have you checked all your fuses?
