My friends... I took it off but I see no problem in the diff.... It is VLSD.. I see no weld, no loose parts.. What do I do? It rotates smoothly when I turn the axle hubs. Is it still possible the internals in LSD broke? I see a bit of scratches on the body of gear body but that's it. The only difference between this and the new one I got is slightly different shapes in the peep holes. First one is the new one, 2nd one is the one I just took off. Please see the pictures. Mine seems to be Serena C23 diff, not the original. I wanted to ask you before I put the new one in. Deflated finding nothing wrong in the diff...

Yeah it's a 21mm IIRC, you're not rounding that without using the wrong tool.

I also think it's a locker-style, which is probably why it's fighting him.
I'm not sure if mine are the locker styles but the mobile mechanic just used better tools. My breaker bar is literally bending when I was trying but his was much sturdier. And the trick was to use deep socket but short one which I didn't have. I had to use extensions because the trunk bottom was sticking out preventing me from attaching the breaker bar directly to the socket when I used the long deep socket but he used short deep socket so he was able to attach the bar directly.. My 2 extensions are shot. Anyway, now that's not the point..

If the issue is with the locker mechanism (in the diff), you probably won't see it without a full teardown. You won't be able to put enough torque on it to engage the LSD by hand.

That's assuring for sure. This site was down shortly after I posted the last message. So I got impatient earlier and started installing the new diff.
I got stupid and installed the diff after much struggling with tight spaces just to realize I didn't put gasket on the diff cover. When I started lowering the diff again, it fell on my arm and now I'm out at least for a week as I can't lift anything. Fortunately I didn't break any bones.
Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted... I really hope this will eliminate the original issue. Then I can move on to the transmission and aeros.

From now on, for sure... Should've gotten some sort of trans jack attachment to the floor jack as a hindsight...
