P1757 p1721 p0731 p0735 on 2010 Ex35

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

On the way back home suddenly i got following code: P1757 p1721 p0731 p0735. Car drives pretty normal except the rpm is high, as it can,t go to 5th gear. But acceleration is ok and can go over 80mph ay 5k rpm. Fluid is good not burnt. Car has about 98000 miles, Front wheel drive. What could it be? Any recommendation for mechanic in southern calif? Thanks

P1757 is a hard code, it means the Front Brake solenoid in the tran-ny is either open circuit or has a bad coil. Both of the P07x codes are probably derivative. The one that's a little puzzling is the P1721, that implies a problem in CAN communication between the tran-ny and the cluster. If the CAN wires were broken the cluster should be throwing a P0500. Since it isn't, I wonder if maybe you don't have some broken solder joints on your TCM. That's a fairly frequent failure point on Nissan TCM's suffering from old age.

So, might the p1757 caused by bad solenoid (not coil)? Could it be caused by bad speed sensor as per attached pic?

The coil is part of a solenoid "assembly", the coil and the hydraulic parts aren't separable. P1757 is strictly electrical, it means there's a disconnect someplace between the solenoid coil and the TCM. The solenoids on most Nissan TCM's plug directly into one side of the TCM mainboard, so the problem could be broken solder and not a bad solenoid. You can drop the Valve Body and ohm the solenoids. Even though Nissan doesn't publish a spec, they should all read about the same. If you don't find one that reads "OL" on your meter, then the problem is on the mainboard.
