My battery is getting old and I want to replace it. Went to Interstate Battery and they told me my 2017 Nissan Titan SV Crew Cab 4x2 need an AGM battery. I put the AGM on my truck and got a few blocks down the road and the truck idled a little rough sitting at the Red light. I went back and told them my truck isn't running like it was before I arrived so they asked if I just wanted to return it and the put the old battery back on. Now it still idles a little rough but not as bad. Did I screw up by installing the AGM battery? Is my truck suppose to have an AGM or EFB battery? :gotme

Thanks for the help.

You need to extend voltmeter clips with meter in car (have a passenger watch it now :) ) it can ALMOST be like reading a data stream IF someone is recording video AND capturing comments , thoughts , observations . For with a battery IN car ................VOLTAGE is the key sounds like in your case ???

p.s. Still sketchy ?? A-zone and O'relly has load boxes and professional battery test eqipment , you can squeeze them in at the points of your choosing , cause AMPS may NOT reflect as great as the so-called " good battery voltages " you may be seeing ?

Forot to mention " good safety practice " of using automotive style ATO fuse holder w/ low 3Amp installed . One end can be shoved in some space created upon loosening positive terminal's nut (10mm?) jam wire in - tighten then couple wraps of El. tape to secure further ! Other end , IF an alligator clip used - strip about 1" , on jaw w/teeth ( ) double wrap fuse wire THEN couple wraps El. tape to better be " Fail-Safe " . You've taped the crap out of BOTH now .

Cause that little meter wire from positive to meter would LIGHT UP and BURN !!! IF'n it shorted out ANYWHERE ALONG THE WAY

Between the AGM and EFB Batteries, an AGM will generally so better at holding up to vibrations and what not when compared to a Flooded Battery. For you I would look things over like electrical connections and making sure the positive terminal isn't messed up. If it is then get a new one from Nissan. They are inexpensive and actually fit unlike the aftermarket ones at the auto parts store
