Hi everyone, I plan on removing my engine for my 05 maxima because it needs a timing job and headgaskets. I have been doing research but haven't found much look on a guide / manual on the procedure of either removing the motor through bottom or top and I was wondering if anyone could please link me a manual or write out steps. It is my first engine removal and I am excited to start. I appreciate any and all help :)

Removal from the top is extremely difficult. The easiest way is to drop the subframe out the bottom with the engine and transmission still attached. There's a complete FSM for your car here in Nico, you'll find the engine removal stuff in the EM (Engine Mechanical) section:

Found it thank you so much! It definitely helps with engine assembly but I was wondering if there is a guide of some sort to drop the motor out of the bottom? Or is it pretty self explanatory if I watch a video for any vq / v6 removal? Thank you again

For the most part, a vid for any FWD VQ35 will have all the same steps. The only one that's somewhat different is the Quest, because it's in there with a shoehorn. In broad terms, a vid for a Murano, R52 Pathy, or V6 Altima will be almost identical to your ride.
