2009 maxima timing chain replacement

I'm considering a timing chain replacement. The Nissan manual states recover the refrigerant and remove compressor. If the exhaust, axle etc were removed, could I lift the engine enough to clear the mounting flange on the compressor and leave the refrigerant and compressor in place?

It generally is possible to "hang" the compressor, but the low side line will give you a major headache getting the cover in and out and you can easily crack it accidentally. So it can be done that way, but I don't recommend it.
