I am getting a vibration from a standing start. I dont think it is coming from the engine and it usally goes away after the 2nd to 3rd gear change. I put on the parking brake and blocked the wheels and its not there. Could this be coming from the rear struts? They look original and are leaking oil so I`m sure they need to be changed.

If so are the ones on ebay a good deal? I cant afford to put oem on this car I still need to spend in other areas.ThanksReid

The Tokico Blue HP series are just the oem afternmarket replacement for the factory shock.

All aftermarket are generally 10-15% stiffer to help correct for rubber bushing wear in other suspension parts.

Ideal for the money...............to make sure they last as long as possibble always buy new and replace integrated bumpstop/dust shields from dealer.

Vibrations on acceleration are usually motor and transmission mounts, driveshaft related [center bearing failure creating a droop down angle. ...AT-------v-------DIF.....]. Also check the rear subframe for silicone leaks and worn mounts for Differential isolation.

LOL - Tech? Did you really make a text drawing of the Q45 powertrain? That. Is. Awesome.

Seriously... make one of the VH45DE!

Cool I will pick up the struts off ebay and call scottsdale for the bushings. I know the driveshaft is fine I rebuilt it a while back with new center support and u-joints. So I will check the motor mounts. They are the ones that came with the jdm engine as the original ones where bad. The transmission mount looks ok but I have it on the lift so I will check it tomorrow.

Good thing I was under there the drivers side tie rod was almost ready to fall off

Thanks and have a very happy new year

Tech you hit the nail on the head! I sliped a transmission jack under the engine and the drivers side mount is wasted. The pass side isnt much better so I will replace all 3. I also picked up the struts off ebay.

Once I get this all this work under my belt I will tackle that whine. I am starting to believe it is coming from the chain tensioners. Its difficult to track down as it sounds like its coming from everywhere at once. After flushing the engine with the cheap stuff it started going away then it comes back. I will try the BG. ThanksReid

Bet the whine is from the pinion bearing in the rear differential. Accellerated wear occurs when the drivetrain is seriously out of alignment.

Sometimes the best deal is to get both from Joe.

And the service cannot be beat.
