My transmission is starting to slip bad! It took me 30minutes to get to work today!! I was really thinking of converting it to a 6-speed. There is an adapter plate on ebay that "claims" you can bolt up a 350Z 6-speed transmission to it... Is this legit?? has anyone bought this yet???

I'm pretty skeptical but it says its made in America.. Has anyone done this swap before?? I need info

The auto to manual transmission swap has become fairly common these days. Below is a previous post on these. Exact same pictures too. I would bet my 2 cents that this is the same person! You could probably buy them direct from him/his supplier and save some $$. He is also on the VIPSTYLECARS forum as well.

Yes, this plate is 100% legit. I did not make these plates, however they were designed for me by a guy who makes/sells the plates.

They will bolt directly to any of the transmissions he has listed, with minor mods to the trans to keep everything lined up right.

This is his adapter on my 1991 vh45 bolted to a 08 350z trans(effectively a 370z trans)

OH and PS.

Yes its made in good ol USA right here in florida, I dealt with the guy who makes the plates personally and he is a super legit guy and more than willing to help if you have questions. Shoot him an email.

It really comes down to how much of a DIY guy are you and how much are you willing to cut, cause you will have to do alot of cutting. You could find a Level 10 rebuilt auto, I am for sure a guy that like to use his left foot (I have a 300ZX and X-Terra that both have manuals), but for an older car like this, if you really use it as a daily driver, than just rebuild the auto or time for a new car. If this is a project car and your up for an adventure, go for it!!! There are a few people on the board with 5 speeds, and I can only dream how cool this car woudl be with a manual. I drove a 540i that had a 6 speed and it rocked, so the Q would also be fun.

Do it.. Be sure to get the right model 350Z trans (later models) that don't have the synchro issues...

I've put about 60k miles on my Q with the 5 speed swap and it's great... Daily drive it and it's totally reliable.

Hey man I would suggest a t56 6speed over the cd09 6speed . The adapter is out there and the trans is stronger and smaller . The nissan 6speed is physically huge in size .
