I feel bad for Geoffs89Pathy because the plate he had did not line up properly, as he was in the initial run. I offered to send him another plate with the correctly aligned holes, but did not want to do that route again. I also think a lot of his trials and tribulations during the install process were done improperly, however they were all mistakes that anyone could have made.
Also note that when mazworx made their first adapters, there was a bolt hole on the block that was almost half a hole off.. Its all part of the learning curve.
On the note that Tommy made about the bolts lining up when welding is very important. Another member made a suggestion to wrap the bolts with wire or something to ensure they are centered in the transmission holes.. This person said that trick worked like a charm.
The bottom line on these plates is that I know they aren't perfect.. The fact of the matter is that when they are setup properly, I believe they are superior to mazworx, AND they are about 1/3 the cost after you factor in machining the bellhousing (regardless if you send it to them or have it done locally)
Most guys that are going to be mating a 300ZX transmission to a VH45 have more than enough skill and capability to make this adapter work, which is why I am able to offer them at a low price. I am not doing these things to make money, I make a little for my time but I don't make a living on them. I try and be as honest as possible making sure everyone knows the pro's and con's...
