is it the same as the head temp sensor, cause i REALLY hope it it..that'd mean the difference in a 1 hour job with just taking off the a/c idler bracket and about a 3 hour job if i have to take the front covers off

thanks in advance

Sorry for the delay, the coolant temp sensor is the cylinder head temperature sensor. I believe the M30 does use the CHTS just like the Z31's and that is located in the left (drive's side) head, behind the timing cover. Its tough but with a bit of work you can get it off without taking the cover off. If I remember correctly, a u-joint adapter for a socket wrench should be able to get back there to at least get it loose then you can use some long needle nose or similar to unscrew it the rest of the way.

Heh, I actually got over 30 mpg once with mine... with a horribly old cap and rotor, plugs, and wires. The intake coupler was actually loose allowing air to be sucked in causing it to run a bit leaner getting my better fuel economy. I fixed everything up and tightened the coupler down and still managed about 29 mpg on the interstate. If only the interior was slightly different in the M30, I'd keep mine. It just doesn't fit me right.
