I have seen my car with a VG30DET motor in it, but I would like to try a Twin Turbo 90-96 motor upgraded with either the HKS GT2530 turbos or the Greddy TD05 turbos. Which do you feel will handle the higher boost and give me that little bit more HP? How difficult of a job do you think this will be? I'm not looking for extreme high HP cause I know must of you are going to say I should put an RB motor in. This car is mostly a show car. I just want that "DAMN!!" look on everyone's face when I pop the hood. Thanks for all of your guys input. Also if you know of anywhere giving detailed info on this swap that would be a big help. Thanks again

Yeah, i asked that and most were like, get an rb, or, the vg30 is weak and so is the transmission, but its all about uniqueness, id say do it if you have the money.

If you want people to look under the hood and go damn, the rb motor is the way to go....if you have 16,000+ to do it with "www.afterdarktuning.com".

Personally, I think you would get more respect if you turbo the motor that came with the car. People aren't proud enough of the ka motor lineup. Put a nice HKS T-71 "I think that its, not exactly sure, its the turbo the supra owners do when converting to single turbo setup" on the beast and build the fmu with internals up and its mean.

Just my two cents though, just remember anything is possible with the right amount of $$$$$$$$

i think those supra cats use greddy t66-t88 turbos? B2T" you should just put a skyline motor in it simple b/c everyone whose in the "show" thing usually look for sick conversions from japan, bodykits that you can't even pronounce, and sound systems that you can hear from philly...when your in AC (atlantic city for those who don't know). i say the skyline also beceasue it's easeri to work wit from what i heard. the 300zx engines are too bunched up. it's hard to get to any of the parts. a simple rb20 or rb25 would do the trick. if you are a baller, go wit the rb26dett. that would make ppl cream their pants!!!oh yeah ~~~welcome to our disfunctional family lil' bro!

If you want to do it then do it. Everything costs money and since not many people are doing that swap it will probably cost you. Good luck and welcome.

if you put the vg30 in wouldn't you totally through off the close to perfect weight distribution. A guy that works at a nissan dealership in glendale heights that i talked to did one with his friend. They said it was a pain in the ***, and wish they went with an rb25 when it was done. Motor is about the same price, but goes in alot easier, and has more potential.

At a show to win the contest you must have almost everything done. Uniqueness always puts you over the top. I've seen many SR and RB swaps around where I live. But I want to be just that more different with a VG motor. Plus my love for the Z cars can't be denied. I want it to show in my other love the 240.

Who cares about your weight distribution if it is a show car?

It is all for style points.

Yes that is entirely true. Plus I intend on removing the rear seats and adding in many moniters, video game systems, and stereo system. Many will be hidden and lifted up into sight by hand controlled hydrolics in the custom made over head dash. This will had to the weight in the rear evening out the distribution.

I hope you aren't charging all of this on your credit card, it doesn't sound cheap.
