How many miles and what kind of condition? bolt on cool air intake exhaust is basic and gives some power. if you really want to bump it nitrous Oxide but it strains a motor, and must be installed RIGHT. Depends on what you want to spend and and how much increase you want. Cool air intake and less restrictive exhaust is bolt on and may net some gains. But if you want real power it will cost to do it right and safely.

keep total vehicle weight down, (i.e. no big a** speaker boxes and amps, no cap over bed, smaller battery, etc.), every pound counts. You could carburate it with a manifold from a carbed vg30, albiet slightly modified to fit a holley 500 2 barrel. (some people do a demon 500). here is a clip of one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGLtSPwdu8g. Hope something works out for you.

it only has 68328 miles cause it was previously used only to move a boat around in the keys. its in great condition and i want to get between 200 and 300 hp if possible. where can i get the cold air from? and mines efi will make it harder to change to the holley and will bolt on easy?

Thats good for low mileage, as long as the oil has been changed. Your engine has 138 hp. The engine in the video has 160ish, maybe 175. 200-300 is high hopes unless you turbo. You would need to spin past 7500 rpm to even make 300 n/a. This is really the extent of my knowledge for this engine. Plus, you have the TBI version, and while I think it would be cool to tune the computer, I dought it would make much a difference unless you're running cams and other internal mods. Maybe a wet nitrous kit? You should post your questions in the vg30 forum for better info.

200-300 will cost more than just dropping in a high hp motor. Seriously 300 hp you will need a twinturbo v6 from a twinturbo Z, and trust me that is no cheap deal I owned one. cheapest and most reliable would be a small block v8 swap LOL

200 lbs more is nothing when doubling power and almost tripling torque. Yes V8 is heavier, but the HP and Torque increase more than offsets the weight, and again cost and reliability are way better with small block V8 at 300-350 hp than a VG30 built to even get close to that. A small block V8 can be made at 300-350 hp for much less and be more reliable than a v6 punched out, turbo charged or supercharged to get to the same HP. a 350 chevy engine with 350hp 325 ft lbs of torque is not even straining the engine design at all. to get that from a vg30 you are pushing it to the limits and will cost a fortune to get it there. A normally aspirated motor will out last the same motor with turbo or supercharger, as you are not pushing it hard. no replacement for displacement, all things being equal no way any v6 out does equal V8 in any state of tune. AQ engine is just a air pump the more air in the more power out. to get the same air in and power out of a smaller engine requires pushing the motor harder.
