So the other day I was driving my 90 n/a and out of nowhere, it lost all power and died. Starter fried. Got so hot at the battery terminals, it melted the casing on the ground cable. I have since replaced the alternator, starter, and battery. I have checked all fuses and the main fuse link and all is good. I have some new battery cables on order from czp (love those guys) and for the record, have no codes showing as checked through data scan.

Now the problem, when I try to start the car, it cranks very very slowly. Similar to if the battery was dying. I pulled all the plugs to see if it was hydro locking and got no difference.

About a day before this happened, the motor would die out if I was stopped at a light with the clutch depressed.

I'm at the point where I'm throwing parts at it. Any help is appreciated.

I'd say hold off on buying new parts until you get new battery cables in. If they got super hot and fused with some other junk (or oxidized), the resistance can be super high and robbing amperage/voltage from your starter.

I'd say pull that new starter out and see how fast it spins on the ground. maybe just take it back to where you bought it and ask for an exchange, they might just give you another no questions asked.
