As the title says I have an 08 SL hatchback with bluetooth. I also have the Rockford Frosgate sound system and its horrible. I want to add a 5 channel amp, new speakers, and a sub and I have a few questions for those of you with some knowlage of this car.

1. If I intercetpt the speaker outputs from the headunit to feed a new amp, will this in any way harm the bluetooth in the car?

2. If I change out the speakers, will this have any adverse affect on the bluetooth?

3. Lastly, is there enough room to mount an amp under the passenger seat? I would rather not mount anything on the back of the rear seats or in the hatch area.

4. Are the speaker sizes 6.5" in all the doors? Will an aftermarket tweeter fit in the stock piller location?

Thanks in advance for all those the reply.

I don't know, but I thought I'd give you a bump up and also say, you're crazy, the Rockford system sounds great.

Will not afect your bluetooth system.but. beware with the sub out that comes from the radio.you should see the diagram on the service manual.

oh. if you change the headunit you will have to find the audio mute line from the bluetooth unit, and you will loose the steering audio controls, there's a solution for that too.

Thanks for the replies everyone. A couple of comments and questions...

One poster mentioned that If I change out the factory deck I can keep the bluetooth? Please explaine or point me in the right direction to get more info. on this. Also, keeping the steering wheel controls was mentioned, I know PAC makes adaptors that can keep the use of the stereo controls, can I keep the bluetooth controls too?

I have down loaded the service manual from this site (thank you) In what section can I find the wireing diagram for the stereo?

Thanks again everyone.

A quick update, I hooked up an Ipod to the included cable in the glove box. Its a NIGHT AND DAY difference in the sound. This is the sound I was expecting with the RF system. Now if I can just get the XM, FM, and CD to sound as good. Dose anyone have any idea what is going on? Why is everything else crappy?

I just want to state the obvious here... If you switch out the headunit it will affect your bluetooth system as you will no longer have the radio which is needed to integrate in the native system and will have to get a radio which has it's own bluetooth capabilities.
