Because they felt that in the North American market that they couldn't compete without a sedan version. Probably somewhat true, there are people who buy the Versa who would never consider a hatch. However, Nissan's original plan of making more sedans than hatches changed quickly based on the very positive reception the hatch got at introduction. Now at least 60% of all Versas made for NA are hatches.

get bulldog to crop a wing on there for you... would you like the 3 stacker wing or just the double ??? it helps keep thos front wheels on the ground when your doing about 180mph
