Hi all,I know that this should really go into the "for sale" section of the site, but please, before moving/deleting the thread, take a quick read.

I'm looking to purchase an OEM 6 disc changer for my versa. I was a cheap Bar steward, and got the S model. I can see through all the threads in here that there are plenty of people changing out their radios, and most don't realize that they can sell off their original radio. so please, if you happen to have the upgraded model sitting around, and feel like making some easy money, please let yourself be known.

Also, to those that may suggest buying another radio altogether: to be honest, I'm really just looking for the aux input. in fact, if anyone can point me in the direction of a decent car DIY site, where i can just rewire everything manually and buy an amp, i would love that. Really. I'm pretty good at googling about, but i can't seem to find the right phrase to take me where i want to go. The reason for the OEM radio is because i quite like the factory look on this (usually i don't mind), and i don't work in the nicest of areas. Simple radios don't get stolen as often. even compared to the cheap radios. i don't feel like paying more to repair my window that has been smashed in than the radio itself.

Not to burst your bubble, but the only aux is on the front, and it's an INPUT. There is no AUX output on the SL stereo.

There is a way you can wire an amp into the stock system using high (line) level inputs, but the selection of amps is much smaller and it means tapping and splicing into the existing stereo wiring.

oh, excuse me, that is completely what i meant. i never was that great a multi-tasker. I don't ever listen to the radio, and always have my mp3 player plugged into something at work, or play tunes through the computer. at this point, i suppose it would be easiest to simply buy a head unit, and this is sort of my last resort before doing just that. i'm hoping to get slightly lucky, and get someone with an SL thats upgraded, and doesnt feel like completely ripping a fellow versa lover off.

Here's the Clarion FB275BT I put in my S. NO AM tuner, rear aux-in, SD card slot (2GB Max) supports mp3, Bluetooth supports both handsfree & A2DP. $150 from Crutchfield with all adapters and Scoshce mounting bracket. I added a cable & adapter to relocate aux-in to front.

That's all well and good, but gallus has a very good point about the security of where he lives. Downtown PDX is actually quite a scary place IMHO, especially at night. I've seriously felt safer walking down the streets of my hometown at night, and when I used to live there I got chased down the streets by drug dealers.

The Clarion has a detachable faceplate if you are worried about theft. I don't usually detach it, but I tried it out and it's pretty easy to detach & attach.
