See if people were looking at a mustang and saw a intake manifold added 60 HP they would be all over it but when you break it down its the same increase for both cars.
The 15% claim is reasonable, but the 19 whp claim isn't COMPLETELY accurate.
If you go back and look at the dyno results, the 19 whp claim is based on a "70 MPH" reading on the dyno. The new intake manifold is at its peak power gain there, but the stock engine has already petered off somewhat. BUT... 19 whp as compared to the 111 whp stock dynoed, the actual gain is 17.1% at this speed.
If you consider both peaks, the difference is only 16 whp (111 vs 127), for a 14.4% increase.
So, if you give the numbers a little bit of an evening out to account for the fact that the modded and stock engines peak at different speeds, 15% is a pretty safe claim.
And, as I mentioned in my other thread, its price at $700 is on par with other bolt-on mods. If you intend to make your Versa quick without a turbo, be prepared for costs like this. You're building an MR18DE, not an SBC 350... you can't just crap out parts all day long for nothing.
