I noticed today that the maintenance section of the vehicle information display does not store or keeps the millage driven after the car is turned off.

I read some other post that some was having the same issue. Does anybody else has checked this or has already fixed it.

It has not been fixed yet. No software update for it... broken on every 2014 Rogue on the lot, too (presumably - the dealer tested 3 and bug was on all)

Wish Nissan took software QA a little more seriously. This not the kind of quality I expect from a Japanese auto maker.

Do you meant the Maintenance can't be displayed in your list that you toggle through, or it won't keep what you set for the maintenance reminder?

I set my maintenance to remind me at 5k for an oil filter and the reminder alerted me at 5k like clock work.

My reminder is still in there as well, but I haven't reached the mileage yet.

Are you having a different issue?

it keeps the setting that put on of 5K, but the millage counter, the one on the left side is the one that keeps resetting to 0 after i turn off the car.

Example: 0/5000

The value on the left is the amount of milles or kilometers that you have driven. The right side is the value that you set to pop-up the remainder.

It seems that this is well know issue among Rogue owners, now the question is if Nissan is aware of this. If there is a high volume of vehicles involved this is a clear recall.

The issue you are reporting is the issue I was referring to. The display for the # of miles you have driven seems to reset after the car sits for a while.

Gotcha! I checked my display and it also has a zero for whatever that number is supposed to represent. I guess I had done a "set it and forget it" without ever going back in to look and see how many miles had accumulated.

LOL tell me about it. Every time that i have an issue I almost have to do a presentation to services guys, i even have installed on my computer the Nissan's FAST, believe this saves you a lot of time dealing with the parts department (no updated yet including 2014+ models).

I owned 5 nissans before buying the Rogue and the only reason that keeps me owning nissan is that i know these cars like the back of my hand.

Off topic story :I remember one of the most remarkable money saving I've done was when my AC stop working on my 09 Sentra. The problem was the the compressor clutch burned out.The dealer wanted to replace the whole A/C compressor because according to their parts department for the 09 Sentra the clutch assembly was not available as a separate component. The whole repair was going to cost me $1,800, because according to the FSM procedure the compressor had to be removed form the car. Turns out that with a little of investigation the A/C unit is the same for every Sentra form 07 till 12' and the clutch can be replaced without removing the whole unit from the car. I did the job myself in about 45 min, and i only spend 100 on a used compressor from ebay and from which i only used the clutch and keep the rest of unit as spare, and 45$ on pulley extraction tool.

Lesson of the story do a little of investigation of your own, before going to the dealer that is full of robots that only read the FSM. If knowing how to read that manual is the only skill required to work a the service department. Well, then i'm a heck of technician and should open my own shop with super affordable prices. :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

FYI, I received an update today that is said to correct this issue. New "meter version" is 0.49.28.

The service bulletin number is NTSB 14-064 according to my receipt.

Went to the dealership and they applied it. I was called just yesterday about it, so I think it was a recent release. I had a case open with them for this issue for a few months.

Did the software update actually correct this issue? When I took mine in recently I reported the Maintenance issue and also that the radio reset itself periodically. Their solution is to replace the radio (which is on order).

It did seem to fix it for me. I checked the next day and the miles were still there. Previously if it sat overnight they would be gone.

I scheduled an appointment to have the software update applied and left my Rogue there for the day for them to work on it. When I got back to the dealership, they told me that the software update was not applicable because my radio has navigation included. Apparently the software update only works on non-navigation radios at this point. The dealership said that they are ordering me a replacement radio to see if that will fix the issue but those are on backorder from the manufacturer and they don't know when they will be receiving it in.

If you have navigation and are looking to get this software update, I would recommend double-checking with your dealership because it does not appear the update will work.

I have navigation and got the update. Sounds like your dealer is misinformed.

tsumeone - Can you provide any additional information about your update that might help me convince my dealer that the update is available (updated radio version, service bulletin number)?

I posted the TSB earlier in this thread - NTSB 14-067. They can call Wallace Nissan in Kingsport, TN and speak to the service manager there (Janice I believe). She is the one who called me when the update was available.

Looks like you feel the same exact way I do. It really does bum me out a bit. This was my first Nissan I've ever owned and have always been drawn to Nissan's unique, classy style. The only other Japanese car I have owned is Honda. If this Rogue gives me much more grief, I'm going back to what I know works. Just sucks.

Yup the NEXT time I go for this same issue, it will be for the third time. Thanks to this awesome forum though, I am now armed with the TSB information that apparently you need to bring otherwise they will say they just don't know what's wrong. You would think they would know their TSB's a little better, especially since I know we are not the only '14 Rogue owners in the country and it seems to be a widespread problem. C'MON NISSAN!!

Glad I found this thread - did the first oil change on the leading lady's 2014 this weekend and noticed that it never tracked mileage for the maintenance stuff. I'll get it to the dealer this week.

This is a minor thing, but I wanted to point out to anyone who is going to have this done in the future that the update might* reset all of your vehicle information (trip odometer, mileage numbers, avg. speed, etc.). I track my Fuelly mileage by trip odometer, so my lack of foresight to write this stuff down is an annoyance to me.

*the tech says he did not reset all the information, but I have no way of knowing whether this was really the software update or the tech who did this.
