95Q, 91k miles, Calif. car

Valve covers have slight leak (closing in on 100k, so it's about that time). Just want to make sure as I head down this path, that I'm including all the other services that make sense to eliminate extra service hours. Tried to pull list below from various other posts -- just want to make sure I've been sufficiently thorough.

WORK LIST:

* Valve cover reseal (the starting point)

* Replace under-plenum hoses (didn't Joe used to have full kits for all these on the web site? I can only find 90-93, no mention of 95.)

* Knock sensors (measure resistance? check for heat damage? or just replace as long as we're there? what about the harness?)

* EGR gasket and cleaning?

* TB gasket and cleaning?

* Rail flush?

* Thoughts on having the plugs replaced as long as the plenum is off (last done at 60k)?

* Thoughts on having the injectors replaced as long as the plenum is off (or just have them measured)?

I'm also in the hunt for a shop, as the dealer is way overpriced for stuff like this ($109/hr, quoting $1100 for the valve cover reseal). Wouldn't mind doing it myself, but time is at a premium these days, and I just don't have a full weekend to spare.

Wes (elwesso), a few months back, you posted you were headed down this same route. I never found a completion note, and your web site doesn't have a write-up. Is it still on the "to-do" list, or has it been done without finishing a write-up?

Brian (maxnix) posted a complete list of hoses (thanks). Not sure I'm inclined to go that far, unless CW of the site is it's best approach.

Thanks,Gunman

Replace all the hoses, the one you skip will be the one that fails and you'll have to pull everything apart again.

Gunman,If you wait a few weeks, Ill have my write up done..... Im doing it over christmas, and I should be getting my new KS this week (see my new thread in the infiniti general section).... I found a great deal!!

BTW.... Ill be covering everything and more in my writeup..... If you didnt live on the other side of the country, id encourage you to bring your Q to indiana and we could make a party out of it!!!!!!

Inspect your hoses.... I have had many hoses (PCV, air, and coolant) and all of them look fine, not in need of replacement........ I have to do some more research, but at this point I dont think it needs to happen!!

Elwesso,

Visual inspection on 9 or 10 year old hoses will not give you their true state of condition. They rot from the inside out. While you're in there, you might as well change the hoses.
