Valve cover gasket quick question

I picked up a Fel-Pro gasket kit and noticed in addition to the 2 gaskets for either intake cover, there's these 4 soft rubber strips.

They don't appear to fit the exhaust covers. Anyone know what they're for?

They go on the bottom of the flat part, to help keep water and debris out.
