Hi all.

I have an 81 king cab. Original owner. I'm toying with the idea of replacing it. KBB value is about the same as a cup of Starbucks, but it has quite a few parts I think may be of interest.
I'm NOT selling anything here but I would like to know if any of you would be willing to buy it IF/WHEN the time comes or if it would be better to trade/donate.

Paint and electrical are shot, complete redo on both needed but body only has minor dents.

frame powder coated, perfectly straight and rust free. Converted to power steering with JDM parts (in 89). Bed seams welded and smoothed. looks like a one piece with a few small dings, Custom rear springs, have carried 2400lbs payload with 3 1/2" squat. two stage torsion bars. full polyurethane bushings, front sway bar. original option "dimpled" chrome rear bumper with no dents. Mitsubishi Eclipse seats (comfy), Nice aftermarket 15 X 7 wheels (mb motoring), un cracked dash, looks new. Idler arm modified for bronze bushings and grease fittings (power steering kept destroying the original bushings). Air conditioning Still R-12 though. Clarion stereo with 6X9's on a custom rear shelf where the jumps seats used to be.

Engine, ported head, custom valve job, competition cam 260S. manifold welded and adapted for dgv carb, no "bolt on" adapters anymore it was also port matched. headers with custom exhaust, MSD ignition (6al) blaster ss coil, electric fans, 32/36 DGV carb modified, (deburred, polished and over bored .020" venturies) secondary side choke shaft removed, HD electric fuel pump conversion. high volume oil pump (70 psi cruise).

The truck LOOKS like a 30 year old truck, but the mods make it FEEL and run great. It out handles my 240sx and even with 120-130hp or so I can get 28 mpg highway.
Sorry, no pics at the moment but they would look like an old truck
Again, I'm not selling, just curious if the truck would be worth anything to anybody for its parts modifications since they should all be good, with a new coat of paint or basic rebuild.

Thankyou

i would say somewhere in the market of 2k OBRO, it sounds like its a peppy little truck, but body work and chasing wires can be costly

Sounds like you could get $2500 but only to someone who understands that the truck is function over form and knows what they are looking at.

I like r-12 a/c, IIRC its still the stuff that allows you to turn your car into a freezer.

Sounds like a fun truck to keep around for utility. Sounds in way better condition than my truck.
