Post

I just bought a 92 NA at auction and have some questions about my vacuum lines. I am new to working on cars and especially new to working on Zs. The diagram I am working off is this.

However, this is what my current vacuum situation looks like.

I have a few questions. FIrst is should I simply work towards the first diagram, or is my system fine the way it is set up. And if I do need to return it to "normal" what do I do with the plug on the drivers side where "red" hose from the PRVR is going. Also where do I get a plug with 2 nipples to run that hose correctly because mine currently looks like this.

Also on the driver side behind the strut tower there is this plug

Should this have a hose on it and if so what should it be going too? It currently seems to be dumping exhaust, or just outside air but to the speed of the engine. I have done as much research as I can on this, but figure some of you might know better than me. Thanks

Where do you live? Have you thought about deleting the EGR, PIVR(or whatever the name of it is), AIV's? You will still be able to pass emissions and will not cause it to run odd. From your second post on what they look like it seems they already stopped vac going to the EGR, which probably doesn't work as most don't.

It will make things a million times easier because some solenoids are more than likely broken and hard to find. EGR, to fully delete will require an engine pull, but it can be blocked off, for the most part.

This is just a panel, no hose attachments or anything. Its basically a plate that cleans up the bay on the hoses go to the AIV's.

I live in Texas and already have passed inspection. They didn't do emissions. And yes the plan is to eventually do the twin turbo swap with the 5 speed so I will completely delete the EGR then. I want to try and at least get a couple more years out of the original block. It has 180,000 on it and runs well for the most part. It had only gone 500 miles since 2009 so I am just trying to sort out as much as I can. I will just go ahead and bypass/block off the EGR and AIVs. Just wanted to get someone else's opinion on it. Thanks for the response!
