theres this pretty thick hose that is supposed to go into the cold air intake, is that a vacuum line and do i actually even need to hook it up?...cuz i dont want to weld another pipe from the cold pipe and i'd rather just block it off instead

That is for a recurriculated BOV. more than likely you have an SR unit. Took me a sec to get what you were talking about as far as CAI was concerned LOL.

oh krap no waiti wrote the whole thing all wrongi meant cold intercooler pipe and i found out it's connected to theair regulator for higher rpm idle at colder temperatures...can i block it off?

no you need it or the car won't idle... its not a cold start thing, its the idle air control valve. Without it the car won't run at idle. Period.
