Used 240s

hey im planning to get a used 240 in the near future. i was looking for a manual that hasnt been tuned before. i looked on auto trader and all i find is 2 240sx in my area, 1 is a 240 that has been modified ( i dont trust cars that wouldnt be tuned by myself or someone i know). anyway, i was thinking of getting an automatic, then swapping the transmission. should i do that? and how much would it cost?

it's a HUGE pain in the arse! up in the bay area it's about a 20 to 1 ratio of autos to manuals (similar elsewhere?). i had to wait abuot 6 months before i found my car, and i'm super glad i waited, cause i was *this* close to getting an auto.

right now on ebay someone is selling 2! 240 for the price of 1!!!! o my god, i want to go get it but i dont live around there, dam* it.
