Is there any way or setting on the nav system in the tech package to allow you to set routes and do the additional disabled features while the car is moving> I know it is for safety but it would be nice if I have a passenger in my car and she could set a destination or modify settings in the nav while the car is moving, I hate having to pull over to the side of the road.

did some research. I guess there's no easy way without splicing wires

Give it time... If people were able to get the hacks for the avic's and such, it's only a matter of time before they figure out how to hack the Bose Navi. But yeah it does suck NOT being able manipulate the Navi while you're driving

Search Nissanclub.com in the 07-08 section. There is a write up by GTcompscientist (I think thats his full SN) on how to do it in the sedan. Only way is to splice with a toggle switch.

What do you mean by "splice with a toggle"?

This is the thread for the sedans. Not sure if it works on the coupes, but you can try

Sweet write up! Thanks for the link. I did have a questions though. He cut the wire from pin#8, It looks like he ran a piece of green wire from that to the toggle switch. Where does the other green wire come into play? I know it connects to the other blade of the switch but where does that get attach to?..the other end of the wire that attaches to the connector? Sorry if I'm being dense on this but the pictures were not clear during the splicing part so I just want to make sure I understand fully of what he's doing.

I dunno if that will be enough. I can change any option at a stop light while not moving but in drive, foot on the break. as soon as the GPS sensor detects that i'm moving again, the options become grayed out. Makes me think that the feature is software related and not Park/Parking brake activated

I have to agree, I have a stick, but once the gps sense me not moving I can acess all features, doesn;t matter if I am in nuetral or any gear for that matter...seems like software

But something has to trigger that software to grey options out once the vehicle is moving. Question is what?

hey guys, its def worth a try. yes, the software can detect when the vehicle is moving, but it can be tricked. the hack with the avic D3 takes advantage of loopholes in the software. before folks figured it out, they used to use the same method employed in this write up. but a whole team of techies worked on solving the hack in the avic

I use an aftermarket Pioneer N2, so my hack is different than yours. But the switch basically cuts the signal to the unit when you want to access it. I think when the switch is turned off (not allowing contact) disables the signal to the computer so it thinks you are stopped, even though you arent

Haha, no toggle switch needed on the D3, no headlight flashing or any of that, just switch the mute wire on the harness, ground it, ground the parking brake wire, and go...

There has got to be a way to switch ISO files in the factory nav unit, but again, it'll tack some hacking gurus to figure it out the way they figured it out on the Z2, and I doubt anyone is putting that kind of effort into hacking the factory software for the Nissan Nav

on the N2 all you do is pull back the warranty sticker on the bottom, use a circuit writer pen to connect the R32 pins located underneath, and ground the parking break wire and you are Hacked
