I was under the hood of my friend's Ford Explorer today and the AFM looks like it could be compatable with a CA18det. Has anyone else noticed this? I may go pull one a the JY to see for myself, I figure ot would be nice to have a common source for replacement MAFS.

Good point, those are fairly common, but this one is a 4 pin rather than 3... I know that extra wire is there for a reason

KA-E MAFS is compatible w/o an ECU reprogram. The re-wiring guide is located in the sticky. I don't know if anyboy has ever used a Ford Explorer MAFS, but KA-E MAFS are easy enough to come by, that I don't see any reason to find out...
