***** Updated info at the bottom ******

Hey folks. A couple people were interested in the other version of the USA Spec iPod Adapter so I made a review video of it.

This is the adapter for vehicles that are SAT radio capable but aren't wired for SAT. The PA15-INFI is for those that are wired for SAT.

My original iPod adapter was the Grom Audio USB/AUX/iPod Adapter which is around the same price but 100x less the quality. I can't believe the difference between the PA15 and the Grom. The only benefit of the Grom was the USB connection, but with an iPod, that is easily forgettable.

The song in the video (if anyone is wondering) is: Tinie Tempah - Written In The Stars / http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgFyi74DVjc

Here is the review:

You would need the PA15-INFI entirely which installs in the trunk (see the thread in the FAQ under electric). There is a write up for that exact model.

http://usaspec.com/product.php?ProductI ... wProduct=1

And no problem, glad I can be of assistance.

Dang, the volume output is enough to make me want to get this thing... but that would be $$$ down the toilet on the Isimple. I wish there would've been reviews about the Isimple and the USA Spec sooner, that's what sucks about being the guinea pig, Oh well. At least if any new members ask what's the best Ipod device NOW we know for sure. Lol.

I love it so far also. Charges the phone and sounds great. Plus an easy install

so this will work for 03-04 right? please say yes. I have the sat button, but no sat. I went on the website and the earliest they made applications for is 05.

Should work for your car.

The note at the bottom says:

For all the above listed vehicle models/years, use the PA15-NIS model if the vehicle does not have SAT receiver or if it's not pre-wired for SAT. PA15-NIS's functionality is 100% equivalent to the PA15-INFI. PA15-NIS coonects to the radio while the PA15-INFI connects to the SAT receiver.
Currently USA SPEC does not have any application solution for the following model years:
G35/G37 Sedan: 07-09 Nav radio
G37 Couple: 08-09 Nav radio
EX35: 08-09 Nav radio
FX35/FX50: 09 Nav radio
M35/ M45: 08-09 Nav radio
QX56: 08-09 Nav raadio

Since you are on 03 (which is listed for the PA15-INFI), the PA15-NIS should work for you.

AGREED! :tisk: only thing that I'm not too fond of is the fact that the steering wheel controls don't really work well

Ilya, how hard (or easy) was the install? Did it require any splicing of wires like the GROM? Looks like it's plug and play..Does it fast forward, rewind, etc?

As far as steering wheel controls, I'll have to research it. Maybe I just don't know how they are supposed to work.

As for the install, it was easy. The harness is plug and play.

OEM Harness connects to the USA Harness which connects to the radio. No cutting, splicing, taping, etc.

The manual does mention FF, REW, but I haven't tried that yet.

Oh ok. Can you post up if/when you get time to play around with it? If you can get those two things figured out, I just may pull the trigger on this thing

What if you are wired for sat but don't use it? Could I just get the PA15-NIS and not plug in the sat cable?

Don't know about that guys.

You'll have to ask in the PA15-INFI thread (see FAQ) or call USA Spec.

So, I played around with the steering wheel controls a little more.

If you long press and hold for a second or two up - it changes to the next track within that category that you are in. Works while in random mode too in case you skip a song you like.

Well, how does the PA15-NIS connect? Does it just connect to the port on the back of the radio where the SAT would go? (I assume if you don't have a SAT module, then you would have an empty spot where it would plug in.)

The OEM harness plugs into the NIS and the NIS plugs into where the OEM harness would normally go.

I think the radio harness in general is different for a satelite equipped car, thus I can't answer your question. As far as I know, I do not have a free 'port' on my radio.

Interesting. The instructions say there really isn't any difference... I sent an email to USA Spec. I really don't want to have to run a wire from the trunk to the center console. Much easier to take the dash apart despite what USA Spec says....

Why would it be a typo?

Nissan reuses a LOT of parts from previous years when designing new cars, so I'd be shocked if it WASN'T compatible.

Awesome post - I hope it works for 03 M45's - I went on the USA Spec website and couldn't find a price for it. Can you say how much it costs?
Seems like if I want to buy one - I have to go to a 3rd party - or can I buy direct from USA Spec???

if you're in the middle of a song and want to rewind back to the beginning, are you able to do that? That's one of my biggest pet peeves with the iSimple...you can't fast forward and/or rewind tracks...turning automatically takes you to the next song

One flick of the tune/folder knob (right knob on the 06+ stereo) brings you back to the beginning of the song (left). If you do it to the right, it goes to the next track. Do you mean ff/rewind a couple of seconds? The manual says it's a 90* turn of the knob to do that, but I haven't been able to do it yet.

Functionality is there, I just haven't done it.
