I got mine from Audio Obsessions in Albany, NY. Great buncha guys.
Do you have a radio button? You must have a Radio, SAT, or CAT button.lovemycarM35 wrote:Ok so my 07 M doesn't have the SAT button on the console does that mean this will be plugplay?
Lol, I meant both. With the iSimple, if you're say 30 secs into a song and you want to go back to the beginning, you have to turn the knob back, which takes you back to the previous song. You then have to turn the knob again to move it back to the song u were first on..Also there's no way to rewind/ffIlyaKol wrote:One flick of the tune/folder knob (right knob on the 06+ stereo) brings you back to the beginning of the song (left). If you do it to the right, it goes to the next track. Do you mean ff/rewind a couple of seconds? The manual says it's a 90* turn of the knob to do that, but I haven't been able to do it yet.
Functionality is there, I just haven't done it.
The CAT button is under the 3 button on the radio controls.IlyaKol wrote:Do you have a radio button? You must have a Radio, SAT, or CAT button.lovemycarM35 wrote:Ok so my 07 M doesn't have the SAT button on the console does that mean this will be plugplay?
If your console looks like this, it will work:

Thanks. So I think I would need the PA15-NIS and not the PA15-INFI...how do you know if you're wired for SAT or not though?IlyaKol wrote:Yes. It does not go to the previous song.
You would have to turn it back twice to go to the previous song.
Well, I tried... lol.DoN_BLaZe34 wrote:hahaha umm...no
Nice! I'll def be buying one in the near future. Still asking the above questionDoN_BLaZe34 wrote:It's been a long day and perhaps I'm having a dumb moment, but what interface in your pic are you referring to? Anyone have a pic of what an M with SAT radio looks like?
Did you HOLD the steering wheel control for 2-3 seconds? Just a quick flick of it doesn't work. You have to hold it.AZNPHOLIFE wrote:I just installed the PA15-INFI the sound quality is amazing, better than my CD's but I have 2 issues. I can't cycle through all my playlists and Track down on the steering wheel doesn't work too well. I have about 15 playlists and I can only switch between 10 of them. Track down on the steering wheel only works sometimes, either repeats the song or switches songs.
If someone can shine some light on me that would be great. the track down thing isn't a huge deal but I would really like to get that playlist thing working right.
Yes I did hold it and seems to just replay the song from the start, it does work sometimes just not consistently. Not a huge deal track up does work and if i really want to go back i just press the tune button on the radio. I just want to be able to cycle through all my playlist using the radio without having to go direct mode. On my car I have to press category to cycle through them but as I stated I can only go through 10/15 of them. Maybe I didn't set a DIP switch or something IDK. Does yours work?IlyaKol wrote:Did you HOLD the steering wheel control for 2-3 seconds? Just a quick flick of it doesn't work. I found that the only way to get the playlists / artists / albums to display is to toggle through am/fm/xm/ipod and then press preset a/b/c and then category once to display playlists, albums, or artists on the screen. I have 14 playlists, and am able to "arrow down" to access them. Not the most convenient interface, but by far the best sounding.AZNPHOLIFE wrote:Ok I guess i'll just have to play around with it more. Also a newb question but is it bad to leave your iPod plugged while your car is parked. Like does it drain the car battery?
hmm... My car doesn't have a,b,c presets, but i'll try switching between xm1 and xm2 and see if that makes a difference.SmoovC wrote: I found that the only way to get the playlists / artists / albums to display is to toggle through am/fm/xm/ipod and then press preset a/b/c and then category once to display playlists, albums, or artists on the screen. In the manual for the unit, it says that it will quit charging 30 seconds after the vehicle is shut down.

I think the radio harness in general is different for a satelite equipped car, thus I can't answer your question. As far as I know, I do not have a free 'port' on my radio.
Mine is resting beneathe my cooled/heated seat controls in the center console. I tucked the wiring harness behind the CD changer when I put it back in and ran the large cable under the changer and down into the center. I had originally tucked the unit between the dash and the gear shift assembly (on the top left if you are looking down into the console). I had a few problems getting the shifter assembly seated back properly, so I abandoned that and ran the cable down the middle of the center and plugged the unit in under the seat climate controls. I drilled a hole into the center console storage area just above the aux DC power port. I ran the iPod cable from the unit into the storage area up under the cupholder. I have plenty of slack in the cable and have it coiled up in the center console storage under the armrest.paigoomein wrote:question--in your setup, where is the actual PA15-NIS unit sitting? can you describe how you ran the wires?
Thanks!
I have mine behind and just below the radio/CD changer. There is just enough space for it there and with all the wiring (USA Spec. gives you plenty) it keeps it from moving as everything is nice and snug back there.paigoomein wrote:question--in your setup, where is the actual PA15-NIS unit sitting? can you describe how you ran the wires?

I ran the cables along side the shifter, under the heated/cooled seats buttons, and into the center console and then the rest I explain in the video of how it comes out of there.
