i have some bad news for you. they're very rare, hence actual resale value is higher than book value; poor reliability; there are known issues with 95-96 models' transmitions; they burn and leak oil; cranckwalk; the factory headers aren't exactly heading right and lastly they are known for having floor boards that woudl randomly collpse.

edit: go here to get book values: http://www.kbb.com | http://www.edmunds.com and here to see how much they sell for: http://www.autotrader.com

ummm.... I hope you are joking cuz I hav no Idea what you are talking about...

I have a 95 S14. It is a great car, no problems at all... cept the damage that you do to it. They are rare... but I wouldn't know the prices right now, maxpower did however head you in the right direction with the price check...

Hmm......well i 15, but, ive been in the scene for about 7-8 years now. My opinion, i want a 95 SE, anything lower than that is jut too old for me. I like the 95-98 because of the body styles. Although, it is slightly heavier than the S13. Welcome to the boards and use the redsearch buton at the top.

:bsface Gee, thats funny. Has anybody had any of the problems hes talking about? (collapsing floorboards, WTF???) The 240sx is a very reliable car. The KA motor is bulletproof, there were never any recalls (95-96, not sure about the rest), its an all around good car.And dont pay more than book value, the car isnt that rare.As far as ups and downs, the biggest difference between all year models is mainly cosmetic, so its nore of a personal preference issue.Search aorund the boards, you'll find all the info you need.

They aren't horribly rare, but rare comparing to most cars. Especially since the SR20 craze started. There's a 96 for sale at my college, but I think I'll just stick w/ my '93 (only 78k miles).

:D

I think we can all agree that maxpower pulled that info outta his a**. The car is great, I've enjoyed every moment spent driving my 95 for the past two years. Good luck buying one, and enjoy if you do, but please, PLEASE do not make it look like rice (civic).

He probably doesnt want to see another 240 passing a first time drivers crash test. Although I cant say much as I totalled my first 240 but that was back in 97'. Odd thing is ithe 91 le booked at 7000$ back then and I saw a 92' se going for 5995$ yesterday DOH!!

I used to say the exact same thing practically at another forum I visited a ways back. I stopped because I dont go there as much anymore and all the 240ish posts resided. Funny thing was, was that I got others to do the same, and towards the end there where a handfull of us doing it on every type of post hehe. It wasnt a nissan or 240 type board though, but a car section in a computer forum.

I'm pretty sure the 'reliability issues' brought up were more intended to keep a nice car out of the hands of a 16 year old, more than because there are those issues experienced by 240 owners.

thank you for all the advise and keep it coming.for everyone's info, im a safe driver, except i hit a house the first week with my liscense, but it was slick and the brakes on my 79 Buick Electra Limited failed. Strangely enough, no damage was done to the car, i got no ticket, and it doesn't go on my record. In your faces.

Thanks for real though.
