Important to understand the PHYSICS of automobile engines.
Why would a manufacturer/engineer intentionally use an undersized TB.
You can measure the air pressure drop across the TB to determine the pressure loss........................generally it is less than 5" H2O or 1/6 of a psi which leaves 1/6 x 6.8% or 1.13% of the peak power on the table.
On a 270HP engine that is <3 HP lost....................however a significantly larger one might only gain 1, 1.25, maybe 1.5 HP.
The larger the diameter the less fine response you get so the engine is more difficult to idle and cruise at low rpms.
Remember the Earth's giant supercharger supplies a constant pressure to the system ~~~14.7 psi.........................measure your WOT plenum pressure to see how much of this is lost.
