Hey guys. I have a 95 300ZX TT with cold air, catback, JWT upgrade, and test pipes. I am running 13.5 Lbs boost. Since I got the test pipes my clutch is shot. I can't go above 3,000 rpms without the car just reving. I figured it is time to do my next set of upgrades. I wanted to do flywheel, clutch and downpipes and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. Next summer I plan on doing serious upgrades(trubos, intercooler, ect) so I want a strong clutch. This is the website I have been looking at http://www.ultimatez.com/categ...l-163I was thinking the stillen aluminum flywheel and JWT clutch. Not totally sure on the downpipes, maybe Ultimate Z Down Pipes, since that seems to be the only option. If you like those options or have been options please let me know. I can spend about 2,500 dollars not including labor if I need to. Also if there is any other little goodies I can add for cheap(or to add up to 2500) please let me know. I am trying to keep up with my friends new mustang GT his daddy just bought him. With a shakey clutch I pulled him on a roll by a couple car lengths with exhaust done to his car. He now has straightpipe down pipes and is getting a cold air intake, cams and getting it tuned this saturday so I need all the help I can get. Thanks guys

Also would this item help me at all with power gains?Stillen Turbo Hose UpgradeAs you begin to venture above stock boost levels, it's time to change out those old, and probably spongy-under-boost or brittle with age, factory rubber boost hoses. These 4-ply silicon boost hoses will not be affected by the high temperatures or boost. Kit includes four hoses and eight hose clamps. Hoses are preshaped for a great fit.

I like my RPS clutch/flywheel which never slips under any load, but there are other good choices as well such as Southbend.Downpipes are an absolute must. Specialty Z makes the best in my opinion.

What ECU and boost controller are you using?

I bought the car with the upgrades it has now. It does not have boost control and the ECU has the JWT sticker on it. Not sure if that helps. I plan on taking it in to get it tuned when I do the major upgrades.

I would buy a good clutch and flywheel, 2 1/5" SZ downpipes, and a good EBC such as Blitz to get the best out of what you have now. Depending on your future horsepower goals will define what clutch you should buy now and a good EBC will be future-proof. Only the downpipes may need to be changed if you upgrade the turbos/injectors/EPROM and want all you can get out of it, but even if not the 2.5" ones are a huge upgrade from stock.*If there is money left over I would go for the dual air intake with the Selin Desin translator.

I have heard the dual air intake is best when you have upgraded turbos and not before. My goals are to push about 20-21 psi so I would like to upgrade trubos, intercooler, dual air intake, blowoff valves, fuel injectors, possibly cams. Whatever I need to make it safe. Next summer I will have about 7,500 to spend on it.

A Dual MAF, Dual POP (intake) will benefit any TTZ. Not only does it add power, it shifts your power curve toward the left, giving you a bigger power band.

BOVs are not necessary. Really. They're just for fancy sounds.

Silicone hoses replace cracked and leak prone OEM hoses, and they reduce the likely hood of boost leaks, but don't really add power.

Intercoolers are a must, so are upgraded injectors.

If you're really looking at a $7500 budget, I'd include the bomb-a** SZ 3" expansion downpipes, the MSP manifolds and a set of either the JWT Sport 530 turbos or Z1 GT600 turbos. Cams are fine, but porting the OEM heads and using OEM TT camshafts with ported heads give great street response.

Look into methanol/water injection. Snow performance is one brand I know of.

For Z parts, here are two great sites:

http://www.importpartspro.com

I've run JWT, RPS and Southbend clutches, all were excellent. The RPS flywheel is the best available for our cars. Guess high on your estimated torque number and be safe. The JWT Severe Duty would work, RPS Max Street (I recommend street over 6-puck unless you drag race often, and in that case, the OEM flywheel is better for dragging). There are more options from Southbend as well. I'm currently running a Southbend Stage 5 Ferramic and I love it. Contact member Spddracer [email protected] for more info.

Hey thanks for the info guys, it really helps. I have heard different views on BO valves. I have heard it is better to use the stock setup and recirculate the air but I have also heard with larger turbos it is better to release it so the turbos are not damaged. Which is true?

Functional stock recircs are fine for all boost levels. You can get silicone hoses for the pressurized side from Z1.

HKS SSQV with the recirc fitting is the only other option I would consider. MAF cars don't perform well with BOVs, at least not any better than with stock recircs. MAP cars can adjust to BOVs better.
