I was on a "spirited ride" with my brother's Lotus group (and other exotic cars) with my 2004 350z Touring. After 15 minutes and many mountain curves trying to keep up with lighter cars with manual transmissions, my brakes started to fail and smoke was coming from all 4 wheel wells. Thanks God my wife and I were safe and after a while to let things cool down the brakes worked normally and they have ever since. I would like to "upgrade" my brake system so I can go on these rides a few times a year. Please help with any recommendations. I was thinking of replacing lines, pads, rotors and calipers. Do I need all that I previously listed? Can anybody tell me what actually failed in my braking components? Thanks to all that can help!

There's a pretty price range for brake upgrades, what's you're upgrade budget?

When was the last time your brake fluid was flushed? That is most likely the issue.

They probably have never been flushed. I inherited the car from my dad. What type a fluid should I use? Can the fluid be upgraded also? I figured I would have to spend at least a grand.

I like ate 200 dot4. Available at most stores and reletively cheap. I flush my brakes every other year. And before and after every track event.
