so Dee overnighted me an ECU. i get it, throw it in and the car starts right up. i didn't drive the car for the weekend because i wanted to sort out the wiring and other things. i get home today to sort everything out, car starts before i started sorting the wiring. when i get done, the car won't start, i check the ECU and the lights on the ECU are full bright when the ignition is on, but as soon as i crank the starter, the lights go dim again and i'm back to sqare one no start.

Try shaking the wires that you were working with while cranking to see if the lights get a bit brighter. You might have a loose connection some where. Also try shaking the wires right off the ecu plug while cranking to see if it helps.

GOOD luck,PULSAR GTRRafi

i was only messing with the tach signal and the speed sensor input wires. they came loose whilest i was diagnosing one day. i tried playing with the wires while i crank but nothing happened.

You have a nasty gremlin on your hands. Becareful grounding black wires by the ecu; not all of them needs to be grounded. I personally have never experienced a problem such as the on you're having, but if you have someone near you that sports the same engine swap, see if they would let you test the ecu I sent you to see if you haven't smoked it already. Your problem lies within the wiring that you wired and it's probably something as simple as a wire being hooked-up wrong. Take your time with this man and don't be too proud to go back through the work you've done already. Good luck..........

I'm telling you.... have Yury look at it. He lives in Natick which is like 25mins from you. He is the one who runs wiringspecialties.com. If he can't sort it out, nobody can.

i've been talking to yury since i started having this problem. he has definatly been very helpful. if i can't do anything about it soon i will have to have him come out and look. I only grounded the wires that are specifically grounds. pins 10,20,50, and 60
