My harness lives on LOL... I don't have light blue butt connectors, but the red ones were mine if you found any.

Clawhammer, the performance gains from proper wiring jobs are more than just weight savings and getting money for recycled copper lol. Good electron flow and clean/plentiful grounds ensure a good signal for every component.

Keegan did you ever post how to wire relays for each headlight since the factory setup is so... inefficient?

Jeff if you find yourself with 2 brown plugs that hook up to the dash near the ECU save one for me, because I don't know if you guys took that with the dash wiring and it is SR specific. OK edit I'm probably wrong on this, but check it yo.I mite b over to see this epic event.

yeah theres some red ones that were at the other side, but i'm not sure where the blue ones were from then since i never did anything to the harness until now. i didn't matter though, those blue ones where on the wiring for the headlight, so they got cut out when i extended it anyways.

everything is pretty much done besides wiring the horns and temp sensor, the the fun with techflex is done. the stuff is awesome, i'll have full pics later but since its late (or early i guess), heres a little previewthe rest will come tomorrow, right now i'm off to sleep

alright heres more of the wiring completed. keegan came over and did all the techflex looming. all thats left to do is install everything and very minor work running relays and mounting some stuff. on to the pics

the work station

the wiring notesthe notes were necessary to diagram each plug, since they were individually depinned, had the loom slipped over and repinned. very tedious process but keegan just plugged away at it.

hers everything as he went along

once it was all finished we mocked it up on the engine, but heres finished shots of everything laid out

and here it is on the engine, it doesn't look as finished without the vc, but you get the idea

harness in the intake manifold

the wires in the front

roughly where the coil pack wires will go

the rest of the harness that goes to the firewall and ecu

i'll have more pics soon with everything in the car. you can always check out the main build thread for non electrical related updates

Yeah, I wanted to solder it, but we didn't have any solder at the time and it was like 40 degrees out at the time, so we rushed.

we can to an agreement on a trade of goods and services. i give him my front subframe and whatever else he needs off of the black car in exchange for a rear seat, speakers and wiring awesomeness. he's the man and is very generous with his time.

on a side note, domino's will not let you pick up a pizza at 11:30 but they will deliver

i guess they dont care if their drivers get mugged, but they dont want to risk having their stores robbed.... cant say i blame them in todays age. im always alert when im at work to look for shady individuals, although id give them what they wanted if i was robbed my branch gets attempted robberies/ threats all the time

God I'm going to sound like a newb for asking this. As much as I've read through this forum you would think I would have passed something explaining more.

But what is the actual point in "wire tucking"? Is it just so you know that the wires are all fine and dandy?

Smite me.

the point of wire tucking? because you want to. there isn't much to really be gained from it, except for cleaning up the harness and fixing some of nissans retarded wiring. i like the way it looks and i'm a stickler for a clean look.

Hopefully you didn't take my post as in any way bashing wire tucking. It looks FANTASTIC. But I honestly scratched my head momentarily to attempt to figure out if there was any gain besides personally knowing everything is ran in a clean, un-cluttered greatness

I really need to do this. My engine bay looks horrible. I mean horrible...wires going everywhere...it sucks.

I'll ask a question here: What is involved in swapping the lower harness? I don't have the car here at school and I haven't really looked at it, but am I going to have to cut and splice everything together?

My hatch's lower harness is ghetto. My parts car's lower harness is fresh. 2+2 = 4. Razi I call dibs on Keegan first...I'm east coast haha.

i didn't take it as bashing, its just i know its hard for some to understand why someone would waste the time on doing this. its the same as getting a paint job, only this is cheaper and more time consuming. now that i think about it, there is a benefit of moving and reducing the harness along the fenders; a slammed car will never rub through it

you mean the lower trans harness? 2 plugs go to the main harness the rest go to the transmission sensors. the only sensors you need on the trans are the reverse sensor and the speed sensor. the other wires go to the starter, alternator and the oil sensor

I didn't see any pics of the starter/alt power wiring. Any tips on these? How did you route these wires to/from battery and the fuse box?

Thanks!Jamie
