I see them for everything on some cars. I have seen them for radiator lines, fuel lines... everything. Can I get all that at FR sport? I wanted to get one for my fuel line. From the filter to the rail.

The red and blue part is called an AN fitting. They vary in size depending on the thread pitch you need and the size braided steel line you use... Earls sells them as well as summit racing. Your normal braided steel line tho... after time exposed to the elements will start to show signs of surface rust. I know there's a very similar line type that uses carbon kevlar of some sort but You can get it in black... It's what I'll use when the time comes...

Oh you'll see just give it a lil time... I'm not gonna reveal much on this one till its done! And I've already decided I'm not buying anymore 240's till I finish it up this time lol unless...

Unless it's a crazy deal that I just can't pass up.... lol

But for now I'm going to focus on the vert and make it clean as can be and maybe I'm gonna make her gain a lil weight in the a** end....

so now every time a fuse blows, you have to remove the dash?

My wiring prowess is so great that a fuse will never blow.

...........

Airbag cover is removable. A little velcro will replace the bolts. Maybe just some tight fitting dowels or something.

excellent question, i'm glad you brought this up, but i've already thought of that. first off, since they're relays and not fuses back in there, i don't have to worry about them blowing often. i don't know about you, but i've only had to replace 1 relay between 4 s13s. and even if one does blow, all i need to do is drop the glove box, which is just 2 screws

Clawhammer wrote:DO NOT get me wrong. I can certainly appreciate the time and effort in a clean *** tuck. The following just reflects my particular cup of tea.

Wire tucks are one of the biggest wastes of time in my opinion. Yes I just said I appreciate the time; I did not mean MY time (for the smart asses). I don't drive to meets and pop my hood. I don't post pics of my engine bay online. I have a hood to hide (and protect that ****). My engine bay is meant to go fast, not look pretty. I don't care what my bay looks like. And now that I've typed this I don't know why I'm injecting my opinion into this, but I'm gonna do it anyway. And just say that everything is looking great...and I do look forward to seeing the final product.

Now my computer on the other hand, like the avatar to the left, sits on my desk and looks pretty. I'll tuck a computer all day long, but my car...maybe if I had a see-through hood. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.nicoclub.com/forums/image ... /smile.gif" BORDER="0">

And yes, I do get impulses while working on my car to tuck wires and clean **** up...but then I think...why? It won't make it any faster, and since I don't hard park and pop my hood; it won't look any better.
I agree with you

thats fine, i understand that view point but while doing the wiring i wanted to make it look nice sicne i take pride in what i do, and mge helped make that happen. so far everything i've tested works just like it should and i havent run into any problems (that are related to the wiring and tuck). power options are working, which makes me happy cuz the car was originally a base model.

the heat shirk i used is 3/8 and was a 3:1 shirnk ratio iirc. i dont have the package anymore and i'm not even around to double check since i'm at the beach til tomorrow

hey you should do a blow-through style maf relocation. it'll clean up the 3 wires for the maf that would run across the front of the motor.

also you can run the break lines inside the car so you can clean up the fire wall.

i also got an oil catch can and converted it into a coolant over flow tank and hid it too.

when i was building my car this winter, i pulled the whole car wire harness out and then just built my own. fyi you only need 7 wires to run to the back and still pass inspection. (i put 8, cause i wanted my gas idiot light to work)

I ran my maf wires around the back of the engine along the frame rail to come up to the maf.

I can also run it across the front of the engine if i wanted.

we discussed rerouting the wiring for the mafs but decided against it because:a) i plan on going with a power fc someday and i'll ditch teh mafs entirely thenandb) we thought it unwise to lengthen wiring for something important like mafs. it'll just have more voltage drop and weaken the signal. 3 extra wires across the front doesnt bother me enough to give myself more work for a less then ideal setup

It's not a problem if you use properly shielded wire. Mine is routed behind the motor and has been flawless.

true, i didn't say it was impossible but you shouldn't do it with regular wire and for that hassle it wasnt worth it for me personally when i'll be ditching the mafs eventually
