I'm getting rid of even more wire. I'm building a circle track dirt car, and I want to get rid of everything I don't need. I'm a total wiring noob though. What do I have to keep, and what can I ditch. Any advice?

no idea what all you'll be able to ditch besides obvious stuff. mine is a street car, so i need everything else still there

heres some random pics of the engine sitting there with the wiring done

heres a shot of the lower trans harness mocked up, but i did some work on it later.

heres the engine completed installed in the car with wiring run

after the engine was swapped n, i pulled the lower trans harness and researched which plug was the reverse sensor so i could remove the rest of them. i cleaned up the harness and for the most part everything was at an appropriate length. the speed sensor wiring was very long, but its just 2 dangling wires now waiting for my s14 speed sensor. the plugs that go into the fuse box needed to be extended since the fuse box is now under the dash. It would have been very easy to extend the plugs from the fuse box side, but i didn't want the nasty plugs in the engine bay, so i extended all the wires with plenty of length, then installed the harness, fed the wires through the grommet and cut and soldered them to an appropriate length. the end result looks like this

heres everything from the engine bay going inside, and yes you're seeing that right, all my wiring fits through the smallest of the ac holes.

i still need to finish up the batter relocation wiring that runs into the splitter, but i have the 0 gauge in

everything is essentially done, with the exception of mounting a few things under the dash, but i'm pleased with how its looking

so true, especially with an fc project on the back burner. the extra shifts will help get things rolling, since i need about $1k to get the car on the road

Here's a little of mine. It's still in progress along with brake/clutch tuck and engine bay body work.

Chassis harness layed out.

"Relocated" fusebox. Relays mounted on underside.

Engine harness just needs some new injector plugs for some RC's

Bulkhead connector

Clutch tuck

Sorry if I missed this, but to use the loom you need to de-pin the connectors, slide it on, and then re-pin?

What are you using to de-pin?

Slipnfall/JamieJust wanted to say thanks for posting the website of our plug manufacturer! I've also wanted to buy just a few plugs (the cam angle sensor plug the most) because I stepped on it during install lol. Everyone is adding great info to teh thread! If these 240s were american I'd almost assume Tyco made their plugs lol, but no.

'Glad to have something to add.

Actually I wish I had pictures to add... progress is *soo* much slower than I remember it being during my "younger" years (ha). Priorities suck.

Anyhow I could throw up some pics of what by other half calls an OCD-induced disassembly of my hatch, but that's nothing new 'in these parts'.

Keep the updates coming! It keeps me motivated.

On a more productive note - has anyone come across any high-quality fuse/relay centers that aren't geared for marine? I have p/n's of Delphi centers, but can get no love from suppliers.

I cant find my build thread on here.

random shot of wire harness plugged into the ac. Once I have my triple pressure canister situation and hose situation resolved. I'll worry about taking the system to an ac specialist to get charged.(obviously first worrying about registration/insurance/tags.)

I still have a lot of wires unanswered for. So I will go through the process of de-pinning them once I sort out the headlight wiring. Fan is wired up, A/C is wired up, relay's are wired up. Just need a relay for the headlights, or make sure E7 is not located on the interior (stock) fuse box.

spent most of the day charging my battery, not sure if my charger works properly or not since it doesn't read voltage out anymore. But judging from my trunk light coming on, and me being able to turn on my tail lights and city lamps. I think it's safe to say, we in da building.

And now, for an electrical systems test.http://vimeo.com/3934295

I would like to add, I did not plug up the dimmer switch. That may be why the lights were not coming on the cluster, I'll have to double check that. It might also have something to do with the hazard switch, or that causes my turn signals not to work, cant recall.

Either way, I'm going to try and wrap up the wiring tomorrow and fire it up.

Then jump into the digital climate control.

Question for anyone that's done it before. How in the f*** do you mount it to your console, I don't see the holes matching up, at all. Guess I'll look at the faq/how to tomorrow.

And that's a wrap for today.

On the right you have a SS line with a red and blue fitting. I have been seeing these more and more lately and I cant seem to find them. I ask people on different sites, but they never answer me. Where did you get them. Did you buy them for a spacific spot, or did you get a big reel of it and cut it to the length you needed and add the fitings on later. Either way, where did you get them?
