Naahh man, I'm a 143lb light-brown brotha that's gotten too old to fight. I've never been beat-up before because all the bullies got shot with my BB guns. Imagine what I'd shoot you with now;) and I do have a very low tolerance for ignorance, but you guys are the best; ignorant, but the best.

I just put a GT28R (not the GT28RS) on my CA and the compressor housing only clears the manifold my 0.020". So of course no heat shields would fit back into place. So I would assume the GT25R wouldn't fit at all unless you got a new manifold or made a spacer for the stock one and got longer studs for it.

Spectre, do you have any pictures of how the GT28R fits on your manifold? How do you like it overall? As my turbo apparently ate its thrust bearing I'm considering one of those...

Nothing like bringing a thread back on topic 3 months after it died. JK man! I'm glad you're using the search button. Rock on.

Back from the dead

Have we come to the conclusion that GT25R is the best bolt-on turbo on CA18DET?

No, we have not come to that conclusion. GT25/40R requires some new oil lines. you are better off going with an S14/15 T28, GT28R, or a GT2871R if needed as all those will be a bolt-on affair.

First of all, thank you for searching! I loved this thread! In answer to your question, I would be concerned about a T3 clearing the stock manifold. If it will, then you will need to cut off the T2 flange, weld on a new T3 flange, and then get oil feed and drain lines made. If it is liquid cooled, you will also need to find, or have made, coolant lines. Lastly you will have to have a custom downpipe made with a bung for an O2 sensor. That shouldn't be major though. Finding the appropriate flange will be the hard part.

Buy this: http://www.horsepowerinabox.co...2.htm

....and get some custom oil lines made. I'm not sure if a Skyline GTST T3 downpipe would mate up, so you may need to get a custom one made. You can buy a T3 outlet flange from ATP turbo or possibly the site I linked.

I have to jump in and ask a question too...

I see that the GT28RS has a .64 exhaust housing (just like my SR turbo) with a .62 trim. What compressor housing and trim (also where can I get it) do I need to get a T28 sized compressor on my SR20 S13 turbo?

I know, i know about "having someone build it for me", I dont care I will and can get most of the work done myself.

I just dont have the information.

No more turbo related posts. Mods, I know you guys see this stuff and if not, forgive me. We've discussed turbochargers till we were blue in the fact and literally trying to kill each other to get our points across. Please search, SEARCH, and SEARCH again.
