any machine shop should be able to handle it if you can't get it out. Is it broken out flush or is it protruding? If its protruding soak it in PB blaster and let it sit overnight, then take a torch to it and use some vice grips and you should probably be able to turn it out. If its flush you could use some easy outs by drilling out the center of the stud and inserting the easy out... Or you could just drill it out oversized, tap it, and use a hellacoil.

A machine shop will usually weld a nut onto it and remove it that way. Worked for me with my notorious DSM that ALWAYS had bolts snapping off in the turbo.

drill and tap oversie, use a hellacoil... either do it yourself or let the machine shop do it. If you don't have a drill press and a tap and die set don't even bother, the place I take mine to charges around $20 bucks to do it.

If its in less than 1/4", it can still have a nut welded onto it

I dunno about that, you're as likely to end up welding it in place than you are welding a nut to it.

Well, that's how it was on my turbo when one of the turbine bolts snapped off. And if you know how to use a welder, it works just fine. The guy who welds for me is a master welder and did it for NASCAR for 27 years... I am pretty sure he knows what he's doing.

I broke off a header bolt on the front housing in my old FC. Had to pull the damn motor, take the whole thing to a machine shop, and have it drilled and helicoiled. Cost me all of $25 and a week getting the motor in/out LOL.

The helicoil worked great and seeing how it is flush, the shop will more than likely have to do it that way. From the factory, those studs have some serious anti-seize on them so good luck using an extractor.

fair enough, but I (and probably many others) don't have access to that kind of resource.
