turbo shot??

ok so i dont remember hearing this noise when i 1st got my car on the road, but i was also very excited, so may have passed it over, anyways, when i start to build boost i hear a clicking noise, goes up with rpms, im thinking its the turbo any thoughts?

I doubt it. It's probabally either a stuck lifter, or a bad main/rod bearing. I'd get it checked out right away...

but if i rev the motor under no load and dont build boost i dont hear it.....

Does the ticking rise in rate with the rise of rpms?

yea but seems to peak out at full boost, then again thats when it starts getting loud so it may continue and i cant hear it, but like it will only make the noise when i start making boost, not whikle vaccume is rising ro anything, only after the needle passes 0. and if i rev while im just sitting there not moving, it doesnt happen

Hmmm, that DOESN'T sound like a lifter. I suppose it might still be a rod bearing, but I doubt it. I suppose it might be the turbo, but if the turbo is worn enough to cause either of the blades to rub, you should be spewing oil out of it. I'm stumped...

yea like today i had the hood up and my head right under there, had it reved slowy and quickly to like 6k by my buddy, no noise, but then i go out and drive it and as soon as boost hits, there it is, dont think it could have anything to do with the wastegate do you? wheres dee on this?
