due to this balancing that is required its not recommended you do it yourselfc-rad wrote:...with balancing.
T25 center sections are all the same so the seals and bearings work no matter what. And yes, it is a matter of quality when it comes to the parts. You are talking about a high-precision piece of equipment. That's why shops charge a lot for turbo rebuilding.2BN_S13 wrote:
Is the T25G different from most garrett turbos?
Kits I see on Ebay are for them, I cant really see where they would go wrong.Unless its one of those "quality of materials" deals...
Ditto, unless they think their idea of fun is screwing with banjo bolts and oil lines, as they'll get good at changing out their turbo.NeedCAforS13 wrote:balancing is only $50... don't cheap out man I don't get some of you people.
*well lets see. I'll spend $200 on my turbo, and $100 on my rebuild kit, but F spending another $50 on having it all balanced so it doesn't take a crap on me!*

Never waste money on any used T25 that's busted. For a A few extra dollars I could've taken yours gotten it rebuilt and upgraded with bigger wheels.2BN_S13 wrote:I am about to buy a SR T25, and the turbo is blown.
I just need someone who has experience in turbo rebuilding to tell me how hard replacing the shaft (or rather finding a new shaft) will be.
Hmm......$50 isn't bad. I'm assuming any local big rig diesel shop could do this for me?NeedCAforS13 wrote:balancing is only $50... don't cheap out man I don't get some of you people.
