I am starting to put together my own turbo kit, and would like to know whick of these turbo would be better for my 89 240sx.At my local junkyard there are two turbos:

1985 300zx turbo which is oil and water cooled.

1988 saab 900 turbo which is oil cooled.

I belive both are t3 but the saab one looks much bigger. Both are in about the same condition, and i am plannig to get it rebuilt. I can get each turbo for $40 and i would like to know which would be a better choice for my engine.

Thanksmandoz85

The z31 turbo. I think those saab turbos have a .48 compressor.

Also, you dont necessarily have to use coolant at all with the turbo. You can just leave the housing open if youd like. CHris may left his open and just ran oil through it.

Oil cooled is ok as long as your not going to use the car for long races like road courses and such. Or really long highway runs where your on boost alot. Drags and whatnot will be fine.
