I have searched for hours and it seems I am the only one curious about how exactly the CXracing type of FMIC works. It seems to me that the left and rite turbo would "feed" each other being as it looks like that type of FMIC would share the inlet and outlet for both turbos. Would the air from both turbos interfere with each other? Isn't it possible that the compressed air from the rite turbo going into the intercooler will meet up with the left side and cause flowing problems?

The TDM style FMIC is much easier to understand, its simply 2 smaller intercoolers, with tanks on top and bottom (like the stock SMIC) welded together, it seems like this would be the only way to do it rite?

somebody please explain this, I am going crazy

Thanks :)

Welcome to NICO Dev.

1. The CXracing (ebay special) "twincore" does not allow the charge from the two turbos to "feed" each other. the two air passages are completely separate, the air doesn't intermix inside the core.
2. The TDM is a great unit and if you have the funds I would definitely go with that, it helps out a lot by reducing the length of pipe.
3. The ebay special is also not bad, I used to run one with no problems, and wouldn't hesitate to run it again (I've upgraded to high quality SMICs)
4. Doing it RIGHT means having the funds to do so and a goal in mind, if you are looking to make a little extra power on stack turbos then spending the money on the TDM is a waste, the TDM is designed for high power cars (700hp+)

What are your goals for the car?

Thank you for clearing that up!

goal for the car is around 450WHP. I think TDM is the way to go if its that much better, that 450 number might go up in the future so why bother buying 2 FMICs rite? ;)

How much do you have budgeted for getting 450whp out of the car?

Real TDM intercooler kits are about $1800 (3.5" core; and $2000 for 4.5" core). Ash 2.5" piping kits are about $1300 and capable of over 800 WHP. Its a no brainer unless you want to get 1000+HP bragging numbers. Also, i believe you need to remove your AC to run the TDM kits.
