wiring is all the same as are the ecu's witht he exception of the 96 which has no vvt, if it's got old style injector clips it's 90-93, if it's got new style injector clips it's 94-96, if it's got no vvt it's a 96

the auto ecu is a bit different, and the 96 lacks the vvt control, and the 90-91 has the iav control

"if I had all the money I ever spent on cars........I'd spend it all on cars" . . . Very funny but very true quote

I'm looking to purchase a VG30dett over the next few weeks, which yrs are recommended? Why did Nissan opt to remove the vvt for 96', was it better w/o it? also wats the other system you mentioned on the 93'?

you can ccredit david frieberger f car craft, hotrod and a few other peterson titles for that quote, it just seems so right

they dropped the vvt for emissions reasons and the result is 10 hp ;ess for the 96 modelaiv stands for air inlet valve, it lets air into the exhaust pipe between the pre cat and the cat, it's supposed to make the second cat burn hotter and make the tailpipe emissions cleaner, they realized it didn't make a measureable amount of difference and stopped using them, they often get water in them and make a gurgling sound like air through a bong, most of us remove them

Thanks a million man; so it would seem that the 92-95 would best suite me. Also i need to purchase a cold air intake (this is better than the short ram normally, so is the Cold air what you'd use? either way where could i look to find good pice/ performance?) and also i'd need a complete exhaust from the manifold back. How best to handle this? Should I get a guy to custome make something (2 1/2"). Should I still buy 2 of those downpipes i see selling everywhere for the VG? What would you suggest for great performance and a great grumble without sounding too loud like a honda (combination of mufflers, silencers, cat) looking for a sound like the Infinitie or like the SC lexus (oh, p.s. i should also let you know that the car this is dropping into is an S13 hatchback)

the stock air intake is cold air on all fuel injected Z cars

on the z32 you just get an adapter and a cone to fit onto the mas, it's not liek a honda where you have to runt he pipe out of the engine bay it's already sitting out front between the headlights

as for exhaust for the price you can't beat the megan downpipes and exhaust, all mandrel bent and it's all 2.25 or 2.5, either is fine and won't sound bad so long as you don't get a rice cannon muffeler

They're not gonna make a VG30DETT exhaust kit for an S13, Dave.

I'd find a shop that does mandrel bent piping. They're a little harder to find, but they beat crush bent pipe in the long run.

And as far as mufflers go, I'd look into getting just a resonator/muffler set from Megan, as Dave suggested. I do believe you can order them individually.

Thanks for all the really great feedback; i'll look into mugan. As far as my other question about the gas tank:

"I'd like to run duel exhaust on my S13 240sx but the off-centered (shifted toward the right/passenger side) gas tank makes this a problem. I don't want to use an intrunk 5gal tank as i would like to save my trunk space. I'm looking toward using another Nissan tank from a car which already uses a duel exhaust setup (as i assume such a tank would be setup to be centered allowing for exhausts to pass on both sides -left and right). Do you know if the 300zx tank would work for my issue?Do you have any ideas for me? Is there another option which i've overlooked which might work out better for me?~All constructive comments and assistance are welcome. Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks even more for any helpful postings which result~"

Does anyone have any helpful info for me at all?
