I'll tell you where I am in the process. I have my old timing belt off. I am at TDC. All of my cams are pretty much at the reference points except one. It was the passenger side exhaust cam sprocket. I tried to turn it to where it would line up better but I guess I turned it to far. I cant turn it counter clock wise past noon and I can't turn it clock wise past two o'clock. It just stops and wont let me turn it rest of the way. Thought i could fix it by just by turning the crank a little but no luck. Crank will turn about one turn till it wont go any farther. It does the same thing in both directions. Anything helps at this point.

Hi and welcome to NICO Club!

Sounds like a bit of valve to piston head interference... maybe. So, you'll want to check your crank and cam shaft positions. I suggest using the Factory Service Manual (FSM). Here is a link to your FSM. You'll want to get familiar with the EM chapter which has a specific Timing Belt sub-chapter starting at page EM-12.

Please let us know how it goes. :bigthumb:

Be very, VERY sure about what you do from this point forward, your engine's life hangs in the balance.

You have an interference engine, which means that when/if the cams are out of time even more than ONE TOOTH, your valves collide with the pistons and the valves or even both are destroyed, permanently. You are feeling this when you can't turn the motor over past certain points, and I hope you didn't try forcing it.
DO download the fsm and DO use it for everything you do moving forward, being certain of each step. If this gets beyond you, and it may well (I myself would never try this job, and have done 99% of my own work) do find a certified, for-sure Nissan Z32 guy to do that job as it is by far THE most important item to be correct in a VG30DE or -DETT motor!

Nope. Did not try at all to force it.

That is good.
Check and re-check things before buttoning it up, and I'd seriously suggest a detailed search of the various sites and how-to's for as much info as possible, and pics.
IIRC RoboZ had a tbelt how-to, his are usually very good and lots of pics...tried there? TT.net also has a bunch of how-to help as we also do here...
