Motor is shot, so trying to pull motor and getting a new one so I can get a nice long life...

I have the motor down to just the block. According to my Haynes manual, it says I have to unhook drive shaft and other specific things on the transmission. I'm not sure if they are intending to pull the engine and transmission as one piece, which I don't want to do.

I don't want to damage anything, so don't want to just try jerking it out before I get some advice on what to do pertaining to the drive shaft.

Anyone have any tips? I want to get it pulled tomorrow, so hoping someone has some speedy advice.

Thanks

Jason

Have the motor out. The reason to pull the driveshafts and loosen the transfer case is to allow the transmission to move towards the back of the truck so they will seperate. Pretty much boils down to the oil pan not allowing motor to move forward enough to seperate them.
